Today we’ll talk about a tool that is rapidly gaining popularity around the world. Ukulele is a miniature four-string ukulele. Translated from the Hawaiian, “ukulele” is a jumping flea. Ukulele is common on various Pacific islands, but is associated primarily with Hawaiian music. With the best ukulele amplifiers you can have the best options now.

    • This compact, lightweight, connection-free tool has already become one of the most popular tools among young people. Add to this an affordable price and ease of development and you will get an additional incentive in order to learn how to play ukulele.
    • Miniature four-stringed guitars appeared relatively recently, but quickly conquered the world with their sound. Ukulele sounds great when playing traditional Hawaiian music, jazz, country, reggae and folk.

Ukulele was invented by the Portuguese Manuel Nunez in the 1880s. The basis of the new instrument, he put a braginya (miniature guitar from the island of Madeira) and Cavakinho (Portuguese miniature guitar). Ukulele quickly spread to the islands of the Pacific Ocean, and in Europe and North America became known due to the tour of Pacific musicians in San Francisco in the early 20th century.

As noted above, ukulele is very easy to learn. If you even know how to play the guitar, you can “make friends” with ukulele in a matter of hours.

    Types of Ukulele

The sound depends on the size of the instrument, so it is important to choose the most suitable option for you. There are four types of ukulele. The use of the best high quality ukuleles comes now.

Ukulele soprano is the most common type

The smallest ukulele has the sound of which is considered classic. This type of ukulele is cheaper than the rest, so beginners often choose just soprano. The length of such a ukulele is on average 53 cm, the number of frets is 12-14.

    • Alt-ukulele (or concert ukulele) is the next largest instrument after soprano. The length is about 58 cm, the number of frets is 15-20. This type of ukulele is preferred by people with large hands. This type of ukulele also has a deeper sound than a soprano-ukulele.
    • Tenor Ukulele, whose length is about 66 cm; the number of frets is from 15. Its sound is even deeper than that of a concert ukulele, and it allows you to extract even more sounds due to a longer neck.
    • Baritone-ukulele, whose length is from 76 cm, and on the neck of which is 19 frets and more. The baritone ukulele is tuned in the same way as the guitar on the four lower strings, which makes these two instruments very similar. Due to its impressive size, instruments of this type no longer have the classic ukulele sound, but baritone ukulele is suitable for you if you need a truly deep and rich sound.
