    The Right Strategy To Increase Employee Productivity

    In a company, employees are an important resource. Employees are said to be productive if they can work consistently and produce a good performance and always experience improvement.

    Not only that, but employee productivity will also greatly affect the development of the company itself because a company will develop more if it has employees who are professional, skilled, and have a high work ethic. Then, how to increase employee productivity? Read more below

    Time Management By Manage Calendars Properly

    Good time management is the key to productivity. Make a list of what will be done in a day or week, deadlines, and what information is needed about the job. Always manage calendars properly or planners to indicate what tasks need to be completed and what activities need to be done immediately. Planning what you are going to do helps to live a more organized life, including when to rest and also refresh. Knowing the deadlines of the work also supports completing the work easily.

    Adapting The Work To The Abilities And Interests Of Employees

    Employee productivity is determined by the work done. Employees will find it difficult to work productively when they are asked to do tasks that are not following their abilities and interests.

    For example, employees who are extroverted, creative, and have an out-of-the-box mind may be able to pitch very well to clients. However, they may struggle with detail-oriented or rule-based tasks.

    Provide A Good Work Environment

    One of the factors that affect employee productivity is the work environment. By providing a good work environment, it will have an impact on increasing the productivity of employees in the company.

    The work environment referred to here is in the form of work facilities, work atmosphere, interaction with fellow employees, work security, and safety. That way employees will always feel comfortable and optimistic at work.

    Adapt Holding Training

    Many companies are reluctant to hold training for reasons of cost and time. Holding proper training or training is very important for employee productivity.

    If the problem is limited costs, then the solution can be to provide training through internal seminars by asking one of the employees with great skills to train other employees. It can also be done by holding cross-training which is easy to do and does not cost anything at all.

    This is done by allowing employees to exchange skills or teach one another. This training can make every employee more reliable. For example, when the finance staff is on leave, other employees who have received cross-training can temporarily replace their jobs.

    Sharpen Employee Creativity To Innovate

    Creativity is closely related to productivity. Moreover, in several companies engaged in production, product innovation is the main thing to be able to compete in the industry in which they are engaged.

    Employee opinions are very useful for improving the quality of products or services, limiting the space for employees will only kill their creativity. It’s a good idea for companies to be able to increase employee creativity by letting them be creative, attending various events and seminars, and so on.

    Create A Get-Together

    Employee productivity is also influenced by how they build relationships and interact. Employees can build relationships by attending events organized by the company. With this, the company can convey its vision and mission and listen to opinions and suggestions from employees.

    Creating events that are fun and have shared values. Events can be in the form of eating together, going to tourist attractions, or outbound. This event doesn’t need a big budget and can be held on holidays or weekends.

    As a result, the kinship and togetherness relationship between the company and its employees will be closer, thus supporting employee productivity.

    Implement A Reward And Punishment System

    Various sources state that reward and punishment are considered effective methods to increase work motivation as well as to educate employees. Rewards or rewards are given to employees who excel, while punishment or punishment is given to employees who violate regulations.

    Rewards can be in the form of salary increases or bonuses and commissions, promotions, trophies, or certificates. Punishment, on the other hand, can take the form of a decrease in salary or position, additional overtime allowances, and can even lead to dismissal. With the reward and punishment system, employees will be more motivated to be productive.

    Hold Allowing Employees To Work Remotely

    A survey from Global Workplace Analytics shows that working remotely has increased employee productivity by 103 percent over the past decade.

    In addition, several other studies have also shown that allowing employees to work remotely can reduce the number of sick leave. Employees are considered to be more initiative and can reduce company costs.

    Even so, not all types of work can be done remotely, some jobs that use the system and factory operator jobs do not allow working with this system. Another way is to provide additional leave to employees.

    Allow Ensuring Employees Are Comfortable Working 

    Workplaces that have a lot of pressure with heavy workloads often don’t make employees feel comfortable.

    This situation is also a factor that causes the employee’s work strategy to stagnate. Some companies may also experience an increase in employee turnover rates.

    Therefore, companies need to know the level of comfort and happiness of employees. The reason is that comfortable and happy employees can increase work productivity.
